About the puja
Why is Navgrah Shanti Puja performed?
Vedic astrology speaks of nine planets, the navgrah: Surya (Sun), Chandra (Moon), Mangal (Mars), Budh (Mercury), Guru (Jupiter), Shukra (Venus), Shani (Saturn), Rahu and Ketu.
According to tradition, Navgrah Shanti Puja is performed when one or more of these planets is considered unfavourable in a person’s kundali. Devotees perform it to pray to the nine grahas for peace, balance and blessings.
Which grahas need attention differs from kundali to kundali, so Guruji first looks at your kundali and then explains the puja suited to you. The puja is an act of faith and its effect is not guaranteed.
